all new year celebration cancelled

the tsunami... they haven't give it a name yet... apparently swallowed 100k life. and it is just 100 k / 6000 000 k = 0.0000166 * 100 = 0.00166% of the population in the world.

Documented wave in beach area, Penang Malaysia

and we are cancelling all celebration for the new ushering...

i think penang, would it ever be the same again...? I always thought of living in beach area in Penang, now I am just having second opinion.

i heard someone saying curse is in the ocean.. where there is deadly virus called ZULICAN spreading through sea food..

WHAT TO DO IF STOPPED BY MALAYSIAN POLICE

WHAT TO DO IF STOPPED BY MALAYSIAN POLICE

This is is very useful information. Please pass it on to your friends and family.............especially the women folk!

The next time you are stopped by persons who claimed they are plainclothes police, you are under no obligation to answer their questions or follow their orders, lawyers told Malaysiakini today.

"Policeman who is not wearing his uniform does not have the authority to stop anyone," lawyer and human rights activist Sivarasa Rasiah said.

Sivarasa was commenting on the alleged gang-rape of an 18-year-old Uni student by four men claiming to be police officers on New Year's Eve. The girl said that her car was stopped in Taman Tun Dr Ismail in Kuala Lumpur and were asked by the men to open the car bonnet. She was then told that she had committed an offence and ordered to follow the men to a police station. The girl was driven in her car along the North-South expressway to the Tapah-Cameron Highlands road before she was raped in an oil palm estate.

This incident, and many others, have sparked confusion over the procedures which motorists must follow when flagged down by the police. The most common problem is that most people take instructions without determining if the other person is really a cop," lawyer Annie Santiago said.

However, if you are stopped by a uniformed policeman, then you are required to stop. But you need not get out of the car because you are not expected to do so, Santiago said. He other rule to follow is to provide your identity card only when you are asked to do so. "Even then, you should get his ID first to confirm if he is a cop. There is no harm in calling the relevant police station to verify if he is supposed to be on duty that day," Sivarasa said.

Both lawyers said that motorists should never follow an officer to the police station unless one is under arrest. "If you are not sure, and your instincts tell you that something is wrong, then drive off to the nearest police station and lodge a report," Sivarasa said.

In response to the alleged gang-rape of the 18-year-old, Women's Aid Organisation executive-secretary Ivy Josiah called on the police to launch an education program to teach the public about their rights to prevent them from being victimised by bogus police officers.

Procedures to follow in the event you are stopped by uniformed police Officers while driving.
Stop the car and wind down your window a little bit enough for you to make conversation with the "Police Officer".
If the "police officers" ask for your documents, request to see their IDs first.
If you are satisfied about their identity, ask them if you are being summoned, and for what offence.
Produce your identity card and driver's license and wait to collect your summon ticket.

In the event that the police officers ask you to follow them to the police station:
Ask if you are under arrest and for what offence.
If you are not under arrest, you have the right to leave.

In the event you are flagged down by persons you believe could be plainclothes police:
Do not stop because plainclothes police officers do not have the authority to stop you.
Drive to the nearest police station and lodge a report. (The same procedure applies to pedestrians)

In the event the police come to your house:
Do not let them in before checking their IDs.
If you are not satisfied, phone the nearest police station and confirm if they had been sent to your house.
You are under no obligation to allow them into the house if they don't have a search warrant.
Do not go with them if you are not under arrest.

In the event persons who claimed to be plainclothes police come to your
house:
Do not let him in because they do not have the authority to do so.
Lodge a report at the nearest police station.

hotel industry affected

still talking abt Tsunami .. apparently the tourism industry for beach area will be affected to certain effects .. in a way, one of my father's friend who ran a hotel in Pulau Perhentian had his marketing people rang me up to promote his hotel for the next season. They are currently closed due to the raining season in the east-peninsula Malaysia, which will be reopened by Feb 2005.

If I would have been staying in a condominium, I am pretty sure the insurance agent would call me up to ask for more premium.

Thankfully I am a so called vegetarian and no one offered me to eat geniune fish at a reasonable price. Due to shortage arised from fisherman not risking life to fish at sea, we might get a lot of illegal fish around.

I am sure newspaper can sell more copies than ever, as well as telecommunication would increase by certain percentage.

Anyway, up to date, the disaster is thought to have bring peace to two civil wars in the most badly affected areas; Aceh and Sri Lanka.

death toll still rising..

The Associate press described the activities for human relief in affected area by tsunami as:

Humanitarian agencies began what the United Nations said would become the biggest relief effort the world has ever seen.

this is bigger than 911.. the effects are slowly creeping in..

house prices in Penang beach area would be lowered indefinitely.. insurance coverages would be hastened up, means good news for insurance agent while island country such as Singapore, Australia and etc. would also faced pressured to get ready for similiar disaster. I think government would be wised on their spending as allocation for disaster relief. In other words, Singapore would become a less preferred place to live in compared to Johor.

but thanks to Sumatra really..unless a similiar eruption happened in the South China Sea, East-Peninsula Malaysia will be the worst hit compare to any other countries. Selangor is still a pretty safe place to be in unless erruptions occured at Stait of Melaka.

Tsunami rocks asia coast

it seems that singapore is safe from this rocking..

7000 people dead ... that is really scary...

according to BBC, a ruptured caused by moving earth plates created a vertical displacement in the ocean floor that drunk many cubics of water and caused wave movement and thus erupted the tsunami.

here is an animation that shows how earthquake happens as result of moving earth plate.

yesterday, at around 3:30pm, heavy rain actually poured down the city and I felt the rain as well as I was around the area of sunway. Penang area took the storm by around 2pm and the effect took 1 hour to reach Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

ho ho ho .. Merry christmas

merry christmas...

aisay..another christmas.. means happy new year coming lar..

ever wonder what does christmas means ?

ever wonder who is santa claus?
Apparently, according to
http://www.thelifestoryofsantaclaus.com/
mr.santa claus is supposed to be an orphan goes by the name of Nicholas and was supposed to be raised by many families in a village along the years. He started off by wanting to provide gifts for the first family's children which took him in during christmas. He crafted out wooden toys using a pocket knife descended to him by his father. He eventually become a toymaker and konon nya end up producing the movie
Toy Story in the reason years. (Just joking) He was eventually trained by Bertram Marsden, a wood craver who took him in for his third christmas as an orphan. Prior to that, he won himself a metal sledge which is use for toy delivery during his career as santa claus. He lived with Mr. Marsden for many years and they both dedicated winter evening to doing toys for kids in the village. The reason he delivered the presents during Christmas eve is becoz he had many destination to cover and so he needed to start from Christmas eve-ning up to the wee hours or Christmas day. As Nicholas grew older, the village population grew larger and Nicholas had problem collecting information about childrens in the village, thus the only way for him to know that houses having children is by mean of a hanging a bag by the door. But this doesn't explain why red stocking.. ?? it is because there is a poor boy named Frederick whom had a younger brother and his house got no bag or whatsoever.. Frederick hung his red stocking to the door instead of bag and to his suprise, that did the trick as well. One day, a rich man came to Nicholas for some idea. The former was in his red suit and sleigh which caught the latter in the eye deadly. The next thing on Nicholas mind was to dress like the rich man for his develivery service. He went for a widow tailor and had the red suit made first. The tailor didnt measure him properly and eventually a bigger suit was made and guess what:

Nicholas wanted to fit himself better to the suit so he ate more and more and eventually got a belly. He wore a black boots because the trousers were much longer than expected.

His old horse Lufka eventually got too old to work and Nicholas had to source for other horse-power. and remember the rich man whom inspired Nicholas with red suit, was having financial problem and wanted to sell his possession and eventually he gave away eight reindeer which can move much faster than horses... the parents: Donner and Blitzen and children: Dasher and Dancer, Comet and Cupid, Prancer and Vixen.

Then came and old man with his grand-daughter who had a house on top of the hill in the village. He was rich and had to build barrier around the houses to prevent intrusion. The old man kept himself and grand daughter from mixing with people and everyone guessed that there wouldn't be any red stocking for the little girl during christmas eve. So, Nicholas did the unforgivable, where he gained entry into the house through the chimney and dropped gifts for the family.

Then again, came another weird community called the gypsies. They lived in the forest with tall pine tree. There is no door nor chimney nor stocking.. so Nicholas go around by hanging the toys onto the pine trees and had candled lighted on it. This is why you get christmas tree.

he then named berries Holly after a girl who brought him berries during christmas.

then he became very old and people started to worry that he couldn't stand the cold outside hourses while filling up the stocking with gifts. So, they switched the stocking to be hung inside so that Nicholas can come in and fill them up at a better comfort. But it was the last stocking that Nicholas felt so tired and fell asleep and then the owner of the house decided to help him to finish the job while he went on home. This explains why it is justifiable for parents to filled up the stocking for their kids.

Then Nicholas died and everybody thought there wouldn't be any present no more. But to their suprises, the stockings are being filled up again each time and the villager are assured that Nicholas had become a saint.

Saint Nicholas! Saint Nicholas!
Sant Clos! Sant Clos! as the children put it.
And thus, Santa Claus was borned.

Is It A Stroke Is It A Heart Attack ?

This might be a lifesaver if we can remember the three questions!

Is It a Stroke?

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster for the stroke victim. A stroke victim may suffer brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say any bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple
questions:

* Ask the individual to smile.

* Ask him or her to raise both arms.

* Ask the person to speak a simple sentence.

* If he or she has trouble with any of these tasks, call 9-1-1 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

After discovering that a group of non-medical volunteers could identify facial weakness, arm weakness and speech problems, researchers urged the general public to learn the three questions.

They presented their conclusions at the American Stroke Association's annual
meeting last February. Widespread use of this test could result in prompt
diagnosis and treatment of the stroke and prevent brain damage.

Is It A Heart Attack?

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to 10 people, you can bet that at least one life will be saved.

Read this... It could save your life!!

Let's say it's 6.15 P.M. and you're driving home (alone of course), after an unusually hard day on the job. You're really tired, upset, and frustrated.

Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to radiate out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home.

Unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far. You have been trained in CPR, but the guy that taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself.

HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE

Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.

However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.

A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.

Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm.

In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.

Tell as many people as possible about this. It could save their lives!!

POSSIBLE.

I was also invited to a business preview on a company called "Lampe Berger" of France, last Friday.

It is MLM maily... the product is aroma-therapy. Of the few things about the oils are:
1. Scandalwood - Relieves constipation.
2. Eucalyptus - Helps asthma
3. Lavender
- Stabilizes blood pressure
- Relieves stress
That is why it is also used for sexual arousement.
4. Citronelle - Helps insomia
5. Oceane - Improve mental concentration.
6. Pyrethre - Chase away mosquito.
which one you use for meditation ?? Perhaps Oceane

The speaker Micheal Mok was saying..
What do you want in life?
1. Spend more time with your family.
2. Sack your boss.
3. Help others.
4. Become a better person.
5. Leave a legacy.
6. Possess great health.
7. Travel more.

He quoted "Money is either a terrible master or a wonderful servant"

Out of 100 people who reached the age of 65.
1% is wealthy
4% is financially independence
5% still working
35% Dead
55% dead broke

out of the 5% who succeeded in gaining financial independence, 75% do it by owning their own business.

Do you own the business or the business own you.

Network marketing is a leveraging tools.

Banks are also doing direct selling for credit cards and loan, so what is wrong with direct selling?

Unit Trust and Share market

hello...

last friday I was invited ...not really. I was being asked to be representative for a friend's friend in a function about KLCI(Kuala Lumpur Composite Index) prediction competition that was organized by Avenue Unit Trust Fund alongside Nang Yang Siang Pau and NexNews (The SUN).

there were couple of pretty girls there... too bad I didnt bring my business card.. one of them looks really sweet, a non-chinese who is not very tall and in mini skirt and shoulder-length hair wavy hair.

Anyway, the competition is supposed to outcome as such that the winner whose predition of the KLCI would match closest to the actual one at 5:00pm (malaysian time of course) on 17th Dec 2003. The grand winner would pocket RM 100k, runner up = 30k and third place = 10k.

it was pretty fun..the CEO of Avenue Unit Trund Management Sdn Bhd;Mr.Danny Wong was giving us a finger or two about unit trust and some hints about the share market.. It is great information for me as I hadn't been really good at this area.

Unit Trust
-----------
1. Unit trust income are taxable.
2. There is no shortfall when it comes to buying unit trust before or after the incom distribution period. Unlike the share market, where the unit price is based on supply and demand. Thus, over here, if the fund is value at 110 million, and if 10 million is to be distributed out as income(dividend) . The number to be distributed is called NAV (not sure..). the income distributable is 10 million divided by NAV. The new price for the unit trust is thus = 110 million - 10 million = 100 million. so in order words, the unit price is not based on supply and demand but on other calculations.
3. You should buy when equity prices are low.

Share
------
1. The top few listed shares determine what is the KLC. Thus KLCI may not represent the overall market.
2. The top few which consisted of 45% are those:
2a. Telekom
2b. Maybank
2c. Public Bank
2d. Sime darby
2e. etc
These shares moved 16% and impacted KLCI to move at 7%.
3. Instering share to consider:

Core group (Stable)
---------------------
3a. YTL power.
3b. BAT

Volatile group (Risky but fast turnover)
-----------------------------------------
3c. Genting
3d. Tanjung
3e. Maxis

4. People will not buy the stock when the news is confirmed, but before. so people buy on news and sell on facts. This is the reason why the newspaper are involved here.

5. Factors affecting KLCI.
5a. Oil prices.
5b. Global economy growth
5c. US interest rate
5d. China
5e. Malaysia valuation versus others.
5f. Malaysia growth rates (GDP)
5g. Weakening dollar (deficit)

So eventually, they announced the winner which KLCI closed at 903.00. The closest predition was 902.99 and belonged to a lady. She is quite an emotionless person..

me and my friend went back nothing.. except with glimpse of some pretty ladies. The MC was pretty hot stuff too, tall & lean and speaks well of course.

work smart

i had a discussion with Mr.How who was really a fantastic sanguine (i think so..) he is a great sales person, with a lot of impression in the face and he is very excited with what he wanted to pull across to you. One thing i notice is that the lesser someone knows abt something, the more excitement it could be... I dont meant that he has zero knowledge.. let's just assume that he doesn't know much abt the technicality.. but he is really able to present it like he is being paid RM 1 million for the job.

anyway, one wisdom i learn from him is "Work smart... otherwise you will never be out of the box"

basically what we were discussing is regarding a MLM company doing VOIP..it is called ubiphone and the most practical thing out of the many points he tried to convince me is the following"

monthly maintenance = Rm 115.00
invest 1.5 years (18 months)
total investment = RM 2070.00
and strive for ROI of RM 500k

this is pretty good fortune for a 1.5 years effort.. the total investment is only RM2070.00 which is less that one month office rental for some big companies. To me, it is very practical... I can accept this becoz if after 1.5 years, what you got to lose is only around RM 2k and some time. Thus, given this kind of projection, if you dont have RM 2070.00 in 1.5 years, then you can just forget it.. otherwise it is worth it.

whatever thing that you do, work smart.. try to find the best and shortest path...
one example, if you can use partition magic to create partition and if you have the installation CD, it is better to do it then to reformat the PC from scratch (provided that the pc is not corrupted..) becoz reformating might also gives rise to other issues such as device driver incompatibility.

Funeral Service

I took a four hours drive from KL to Sg. Petani from Saturday doing 120km/hour heading north. We were going for a funeral service on Sunday for a relative in Penang. The roads were clear and there is no speed trap either. It was pretty a good ride, except that I wasn't speeding because I was just driving a Proton Iswara 1.3. Had it been BMW, I would doing at least 160km/hour and would reach there in around 3 hours.

So we went for the service in a house somewhere near Pulau Tikus... I don't exactly know... except that we passed by McCalister Road, Burma Road and etc...

One of the things I noticed about funeral is that it provides opportunity for people to unite and get together. The only difference from other gathering such as Chinese New Year and etc is that it also provides opportunity for people to forgive each other and let go of certain disputes. When someone dies, certain things are gone with it and certain things remain. Funeral also marks the spot for people to move on and having new directions in life.

For me, I get to know more relatives that I wouldn't be knowing anyway. Overall, everybody is satisfied as the service is pretty much Christian-bias, hence you wouldn't be expecting a lot of noisy activities such as people playing drums while taoist monk doing magic.

For conclusion, funeral is really a time for people to unite and let go differences.

being sincere

u can't tell people what you believe and expect them to believe you even though you are sincered becoz there is this word called "gullible"... people don't want to feel that way becoz it is indirectly implying "pretty stupid.." so even though what you believe is true which is only in your own experiences, there is no way for other people to take it just like that. One of the reason is becoz in this world there are some people who likes to talk something not right which would eventually deceive people into doing something unhealthy or bad.

miracle is only true to you and the fact is others don't benefit from it.. people choose to believe what they want to believe based on their intelligence, life experiences and characteristic.

hence if you are a buddhist and married an atheist.. what would happen next ? One way is to keep your own diary and write what you have experienced. Not until that person experienced the same situations which accidentally that person read you diary and related it to his or her own feeling.. that person wouldn't believe a thing becoz it is not important for that person. and hence believe is truly a personal experience which becoz it is you that matters. so you are what you believe or not to believe; the abstract representation of your physical self.

thus, even if I believe and understood a theory so sincerely, I couldn't really get other people to follow becoz it might only be good for me. and because I dont want other to be gullible, it might as well don't say it and keep it to yourself. if you keep it to yourself, it means that the believe resides in you is empty and since believe = you; you are empty as well but merely a physical entity which exist for around 100 years.

in order words, "empty" doesn't mean "don't exist" but nothing. it means nothing.

so, this whole blog is really just an entertaintment! becoz whatever things that I wrote.. you would have feel reactions only ""
1. "ha..so stupid ..."
2. "erks..so odd.."
3. "so nonsense .."
4. "eh... sure or not .."
5. "so show-off"
6. "haha.. he is wrong..not very smart."
7. "y must i read this ??"

subconscious ...

i know of some people who like to be convinced that they are making use of people in one way or another... this is very common for some bosses for instance, wanted to pay the staff with underpar salary but the job expectation is high...

some people like myself... like to convinced that whatever things I do, I am doing someone a favor. For instance, I might help someone doing something... but the truth is that it might not be help instead of harm. For instance, if you help someone asking a girl out.. the girl attracted to you.. then die lar.

so for World Aids Day, I hope this will help sincerely.

kilometer

from P.J to Semenyih : 40km (80km back and forth)
from P.J to Seremban: 100+km (200+km back and forth)
from P.J to Gombak: 20km (40km back and forth)

so far, the furthest that I went for a business trip is Beranang, shortly after Semenyih. It is around 90km (180km back and forth)

I always think Giombak is further becoz the traffics were always more messy and jammed-up.

and also I realize that using Petronas for Proton car gives you more milleage than other ... when I first discovered this, my brother who is working in Shell denied it... but someone in Malaysia actually confirmed this and now I have been visiting petronas. It could really gives you at least 20km to 50km more. (just for Proton vehicle only..)

PC spoiled..

ai shit.. my pc spoiled.. it would boot up.. i think it is due to POST failure..which means the bios is dead..

last few days.. it was already showing sign of aging.. where the system date suddenly behaved in a strange manner..

i tried to boot up PC last two days.. and it was like stop there.. where you wont hear that booting sound "tink.."

also another symptom is that if you leave it long enough (with the power one) .. it might boot back.

one of my friend told me it could be due to "bloated" capacitor..where there is this batch of motherboard came from Taiwan which the capacitors suck..

anyway, even if the bios is spoiled, which is better than "bloated" capacitor.. i might still need to change the whole motherboard.. damn... i need to spend extra money again...

any of you got the same problem... don't be hesitate to consult me.. coz this is the second time i experience such problems.. I think it is becoz I visited to much naughty site..keke..

no revenue

I realized that these days.. there is plenty of jobs around but company just couldn't make up enough revenue to pay the staff..

In my company for instance, we always needed people..but just either the cost is too high or too risky for us to bring in more people to help out with the work.

many people would ask "do you have jobs in your company... ?" I would go " yes, plenty.. but just couldn't pay you dear.." I mean think of a time when someone actually came up to your company and work for free..if everybody were just to do that.. think abt it.. those drug addicts or criminals would offer to work volunteer for companies which having high activities but low revenue.. they would have made the difference. They would make a difference person out of themselves and the bosses would thank them more than the employed staff becoz it is a free service.

We need courage ..not anger

The arrival of a dark time also marks the beginning of new era. Whenever something bad happened to me, such as when I am dissappointed with something.. something new would also happen because you would swear to do something different isn't ?

You sweared that you would do this and tat ?? in order to remember that what have caused you to feel upset doesn't repeat itself. Just like when it is nite time and you prepare youself to sleep... and then you wake up and it is a brand new day.If you didn't sleep, it is not brand new day, just only morning.

Yesterday, I have an argument with my father.. and it made me feel so sad that I just want to give up on him.. give up trying to make him feel happier. I really feel that 26 years is enough. I remember when I was younger, you would always wanted to make your parents feel proud abt you.. I mean you try to get good score and etc.. after you started working, you tried to buy them things and etc.. to remind them that the investment is worth it. and so I have been doing this sort of "pay-back" thingy for 26 years.. and I felt that it would do.

I started to understand what kind of courage people have in order for them to leave home and pursue other interest in other environment. Just imagine for someone to land on a place totally new and stranger to him or her and start from zero. It is just exactly the opposite kind of feeling as when you think otherwise.

I needed courage and not anger.

i want to be enterpreneur !!

i was a bit lost ... because year end is coming and am doing evaluation for myself.. but it is really stupid in a sense that I felt I been busy for the whole year in hope for one day which I could suddenly become so rich man or something.. So I got a little scared.. a bit shaken.. (u know as you get older, feelings like this would follow..)

thinking back, I joined this company for one simple reason.. to be enterpreneur. after 11 months, have I achieved my target.. not really.. the only thing that I got is that I am enriched with more skills, knowledge and experiences. So now I got what it takes to be an enterpreneur and planning as well, but just lacking action becoz I am seriously laking time.

ok ok.. I feel better now.. Just do It !

moving foward

some people say I am "Phlegmatic" type... i guess so.. i like pondering abt futures and values of things..During these holiday season (Hari Raya..) i have some time and started thinking a little abt what has happened so far.. and it is scary to think that so little things had been achieved with so many days has gone.

the scariest thing in this society is really... i figure.. watching people moving yet you are not going anywhere. u r stuck with the same job, same salary, same company ...

i think the very important thing in life is to move foward.. achieving targets and dreams.. that is what i think what matters the most.

one of the reason i like blogging is to document myself and then I would sort of close-case for old stuff, that never to look back what had happened. if I have to be sorry then I am sorry abt it. admit it and move on.

it also made me realize that the most important job of a CEO is to make sure a company move foward. The rest of it..like profit drops, people quiting, products having problems.. are just secondary.. CEO must have the vision to move the company ahead, by leveraging on current situations and keeping hope floats for future excitement. In short, a CEO must at least have a dream, but he or she cannot tell people to stop all works and start focusing on that dream (this would be robbery).. so people have to keep doing their things.. keep acting while the movie director secretly put on a new stage. At the end of the day, annual meeting, if that objective is not achieved, then CEO got nothing to say, then resign.

so our resume is a good documentation of summary of our career. and as long as it shows sign of moving foward, it is good resume.

time flies

without realizing it.. I have been working for current company for almost one year... and I felt like still really new to it...

and I could feel the flesh of those people whom i worked for during previous job...

so, what is my job ?? I joined this company doing marketing.. I was resigned and they countered offered me to be General Manager.. coz my general manager was going on long extended leave.. I thought abt it and decided to finish the war which i started.. I took the offer and decided on assistant general manager.. how much is my pay ?? u guess.

i know how to run the whole business well.. the fact is it is not really a complicated one.. most of the time I am doing fire-fighting.. we are in air-time trading business.

I am starting a project called "Domite" .. I wouldn't tell u what it is until something is out..
isn't it a nice name ?? now it is copyrighted to me, ok ?

8. Bahibig = love woman
9. Kom = Stand
10. Ijilis = Sit
11. Ta-ael = Come

"Come lady, eat and drink a little, try some pls"
"Ta-ael-lee, sueya baAkip-kup, warak warak yarib .."

I see there is hope - volunteer

John Kerry lost.. it never really matter to me coz I am living in Malaysia. Neither I care much abt politics in my own country.

But American election has such wonderful drama and the final moments are always the most memorable.

During John Kerry's losing speech to his supporter, the one that attracted my attention most is the following extract...

"And to all the volunteers, all across this country who gave so much of themselves. You know, thanks to William Field, a six-year-old who collected $680, a quarter and a dollar at a time selling bracelets during the summer to help change America. Thanks to Michael Benson from Florida who I spied in a rope line holding a container of money, and turned out he raided his piggy bank and wanted to contribute. And thanks to Alana Wexler who is 11 years old and started kids for Kerry all across our country. I think of the brigades of students and people, young and old, who took time to travel, time off from work, their own vacation time to work in states far and wide. They braved the hot days of summer and the cold days of the fall and the winter to knock on doors because they were determined to open the doors of opportunity to all Americans. They worked their hearts out, and I wish… you don't know how much they, could have brought this race home for you for them, and I say to them now, don't lose faith."

such a wonderful spirit of volunteerism, ocean of generousity and peace of mind eventually. This is what it takes to make the world a better place.

7s don't after meal ...

This information has been circulated in the net for years... it is pretty much long lived.. right now I am just gonna give it a hall of fame..

  1. Don't smoke- Experiment from experts proves that smoking a cigaretteafter meal is comparable to smoking 10 cigarettes (chances of cancer ishigher).
  2. Don't eat fruits immediately - Immediately eating fruits after mealswill cause stomach to be bloated with air. Therefore take fruit 1-2 hr aftermeal or 1hr before meal.
  3. Don't drink tea - Because tea leaves contain a high content of acid. This substance will cause the Protein content in the food we consume to behardened thus difficult to digest.
  4. Don't loosen your belt - Loosening the belt after a meal will easilycause the intestine to be twisted & blocked.
  5. Don't bathe - Bathing will cause the increase of blood flow to thehands, legs & body thus the amount of blood around the stomach willtherefore decrease. This will weaken the digestive system in our stomach.
  6. Don't walk about - People always say that after a meal walk a hundredsteps and you will live till 99. In actual fact this is not true. Walkingwill cause the digestive system to be unable to absorb the nutrition fromthe food we intake. *
  7. Don't sleep immediately - The food we intake will not be able todigest properly. Thus will lead to gastric & infection in our intestine.
  8. Finally, Goh Fen Ning(Monash univesity tutor.. very rich) would say ... Don't believe everything you hear.

[hatifriends] The White Ribbon Campaign

The White Ribbon Campaign (WRC) is an anti-violence against women campaign that is organised by Man's Action Network Against Violence (MAN.V) and All Women's Action Society (AWAM) to increase awareness of gender violence and for men to own up to their contribution to gender violence and to pledge to end this violence.

The WRC will be held at:
The Rainforest,
1 Utama on 27 November 2004 at 4.30pm.

We are looking for volunteer performers (singers, poets, dancers, etc) to help make the event more colourful. The WRC will be attended by a minister, local celebirites and foreign ambassadors to pledge against violence. We hope that performers could join in and push the message of nonviolence through song, poem, dance or whatever other means of performance. Please contact Alvin Ng at nglaioon@yahoo.com or call 017 - 888 6831 if you're interested to contribute a performance.
Thank you very much.

where is my heart

Sometimes I felt that my life is moving ahead... things are normal.. I am having slow increment of income, health gettings better, intelligence improves, options wider and opportunities ahead...

I go to work, eat dinner, sleep, meet some friends, get involve in business and plan for future.

Also try to get a girlfriend and hope to get marry.

but suddenly I wondered, where my heart is..? What is the motivation ?

Must I get a girl, go married and get into a lot of financial headache to kick-start the movitation ?? that is a bit silly isn't it ? Or maybe the motivation is to carry on living the life that is seems right ahead of me, I can see there is a path ready already..good or bad I not sure but something is there waiting for me. All the people around you are the audience, some waiting to laugh at you, some waiting to watch some excitement.

I have no answer yet...

USA - Creativity

I heard abt stories how you can get your toe stitches back to your hand as finger in USA In Malaysia, you definitely wont find such expertise. Thus, USA is a place with wonderful creativity and fearless sense for being different.

That is why they are top of the world because successful people are working for free and not for money.

In fact, this should be the right spirit. We should seek out to make a different, even though the money will not be a lot. It should be something that worth people's attention.. something that make changes to certain things. We should be going all the way out just to get it done rather than reserve all the way just to keep things the same.

such a bad day !

today was such (not really) a bad day.. to me it was a bit messy but yet interesting..

some of the things that happened..
1. My company product was down for the whole day. So i got the ezcuse not to be doing anything as my boss couldnt say a thing.. I am not responsible to bring them up.
2.bought birthday present for my father.
3. wanted to buy a pant(G2000) for myself but they ran out of size 32 inches. instead, i broke the zip of pant which I was wearing and couldn't fix it.
4. My first handphone went completely dumb.. it just couldn't speak a word. I think it is really time to change.
5. Met Patrick Lim (Omega Trend's presidential club member) at dinner near Tmn Seputeh. I was talking abt Omega Trend to other people at the other table. Thanks god I didn't say any bad thing abt him.

I also spent a lot of money through my credit card. But tis will be future problem.

things that I forgot to buy..

1. cat food.

Why r you standing there ?

I just curious sometimes... I have been living with my parents for 26 years and what are they really important to me..?? besides being the biological contributor to my existence, spending a fortune on me and scolding me for the last two decades..

Every morning.. my parents will be there.. I woke up and they will just be there.. I never really thought a lot abt their presence, Sometimes I would just walk pass them without saying much.

Came yesterday, I was at a public speaking ocassion (Omega Trend) where the speaker Mr. Arthur Yap was saying .."if you want to be as successful as me, you have to listen to me only. If you don't want to be that person, don't listen to anything he or she says".

this is really quite true, i never listen to my parents .. I don't like their ideas and opinions.. I don't want to be like them.. but then again, they also teach me the opposite, which is never be like them if I think they are not successful or worth copying. Their existence teaches me this every damn day, everyday I woke up to the morning, I got a reminded lesson, over and over again ..and again and again... I never realize it. Whatever things that they have done, wrongly or rightly scolded you.. if you think you don't want to repeat their mistake, and I have to thank them for being there always to remind me to "be better and make the difference"

same things goes to anything surrounding us.. people are giving somekind of dharma talk.. if you want to become a begger, follow their style. If you want to be a movie star, follow their style.. and you will be if not successful, at least one kind. Don't agree with your boss if you think he is wrong.. but you have no choice coz he is paying you, but at least you need to thank him for reminding you not to be him or her.

I would think, the biggest accomplishment of parents are (if they have children), succeeded in bring up the children and the biggest gift of children from parents is the opportunity to be a something better.

my dear friend, thanks for standing there..

wasting time ..

it is now 2:31 AM, I felt I have wasted the whole of yesterday...

why do I feel tat way ?
Because whatever I do is not helping me with anything..either making me richer or etc.. I achieved nothing yesterday.. except successfully sent my car for servicing..

earlier part of the day was sending car to workshop then go office, do some work, go lunch, do some work and then go pickup my car..
I spent 8:00 pm to 9:00pm having dinner with Rick Teoh and his girlfriend.. talking abt Omega Trend.
then 9:30 to 10:30pm trying to introduce someone to a job which didnt go quite well..
11:00 to 12:00 I spent on talking pictures of my cat which is sicked.
12:00 to now... surfing net for nothing... went into dirty site for a while. But I didnt look at the 'hidden camera' section where the owner doesn't quite allow you to see its secret. u know what I mean.. it makes a lot of difference when what you seeing is something you suppose to see or not suppose to see.

now i figure i justed wasted damn whole day.

it got me thinking.. wasting time is really a SIN!!!

blogging is not wasting time, blogging makes me realize that I was wasting time.

I really need to start not wasting time.. coz it made you go dumb and you just couldn't live productively. When wasting time, your mind stop there for a while .. this would kill your nerves and spoil your fate.. i think so.

Check out the answer here

My Answer here I just followed instinct and they went pretty well... but this game is pretty well engineered.

This game explains that my instinct is influenced by my feeling..

bloody petrol !!

whoi bloody .. car petrol price hiked again!! this is crazy .. RM 0.05 is a 3.5% {(0.05/1.42 ) * 100}increase to our daily expenses.. to put things into gross perspective, if you are a sales person with commission of less than 3.5%, for you to continue with current sales volume and customer-service requirement, you would be making losses altogether.. not unless you add a surcharge as service fees or you adjust the minimum order accordingly so that customers pay for this inflation effects. In the bottom line, if customers is not willing to do that, sales man would have to bear the cost because most company is not going to give a big damn abt this issue.

This would affect the middleman company first, especially those doing distribution where logistic is part of the accounting.. For instance, company dealing with handphone reload coupons are the one going to feel the burnt of the heat.. Principal company (manufacturer and etc) will feel it later when sales throughput from middleman decreases... eventually, professional service will be the last kena.

anyway, I am no economic expert, but I can tell you, I am going to drive lesser these days.. and I am sure gonna impose biggers rules on my business dealings.

海上生明月,天涯共此时 - Happy lantern Festival

aisay.. I never thought they would create web site even for Happy lantern festival... http://www.moon.com.cn/
in fact there are plenty of them. You can check them out to find out the history of this festival, which comes in many versions.

so this festival came again.. which I never really care abt it.. all I know is that I don't really enjoy eating mooncake during my childhood days.. where you would have things like black lotus, white lotus.. not so nice one.. these days you had things like vanila flavour, durian flavour.. ice-cream mooncake, latte mooncake, orchard splashcake...

and yeah, we heard of story people making money and sustain for one year by just selling mooncake. So, is eating mooncake really important becoz of the taste ?? I think not.

The only reason I eat mooncake is because today is the day and becoz my mom bought them. I guess the only reason my mom bought them is becoz today is the Lantern festival (of course she bought them few days before lar..) and also perhaps my relatives and friends gave some to us. So actually, this festival is good for many other things other than the history part of it.

One thing for sure it creates income for some and the second thing is I would agree, reunion. Also it creates side effect for some people like me with no girlfriend (YET!!!) coz I must be asking.. when is someone gonna sing '月亮代表我的心' to me... aisay.. so pity.. nvm I will play the MP3 (not cassette anymore!!)

Nevertheless, I think it would be great time if everyone just stop and look at the moon for a while. Think abt how much you have achieved in life and console yourself that you have actually done enough. What is more worth it than being able to look at the moon for a while .. would you still want to kira here and there .. that someone owed you money or something... Forgive them with all your heart, coz they are also looking at the moon at the same time.. hoping tat you would do the same thing.

Then suddenly maybe u might see an asteriod approaching .. (asteriod Toutatis is coming on wednesday.. no joke), but Bruce Willis is nowhere to be found!! No worries, this time is just passing by.. not visiting.

MGGR October 18-23

Greeting from the Center For Asia Pacific Women in Politics (CAPWIP) The Center for Asia Pacific Women in Politics (CAPWIP) would like to invite your organization to a training on "Making Governance Gender Responsive (MGGR)" October 17-23, 2004 in Manila, Philippines. This training course was developed by the Center for Asia Pacific Women in Politics (CAPWIP), with funding support from the Asia Pacific Gender Equality Network (UNDP-APGEN) and the PARAGON Regional Governance Programme for Asia (UNDP-PARAGON).

The course is designed for middle and senior level government executives, women and men in local governments, political parties, research and training institutes and civil society organizations who are leading or participating in governance reform initiatives in their respective countries. Specifically, it intends to help participants to:

  1. Gain theoretical and practical understanding and appreciation of the Gender and Development (GAD) and governance concepts and their inter-relationship;
  2. Acquire skills in identifying and analyzing gender-related issues and biases in governance; and
  3. Formulate a doable action plan to address these gender biases and concerns. > It is composed of three (3) modules developed to enhance participants' understanding of the link between gender and governance as well as increase their awareness of gender biases in governance. The training is being offered and designed for a small group of about 25 to 30 participants only.

The first and second batches of the MGGR training were successfully held last February and June 2004 at the newly-built CAPWIP Institute for Gender-Responsive Governance and Leadership (CIGGL) located at Hostelling International Manila (HI Manila) at 4229 Tomas Claudio Street, Baclaran, Parañaque City, Philippines. This was attended by participants from different countries in the Asia Pacific region.

The third batch of the 2004 MGGR trainings is scheduled on October 18-23, 2004> The third batch was redesigned based on the feed back from the first two successful trainings. The third batch has been expanded to a six day course ( originally designed as a three day course), and the course is now heavier on field visits. The registration fee for the six day training is US775 based on twin sharing accomodations and US 600 for triple sharing accomodations ( meals and training kit included) We are sending you the detailed information sheet and the registration form as attachments to this email.

We hope that your organization can send participants to this training. Let us join hands in promoting gender responsive governance through transformative leadership and citizenship. We look forward to your participation.

Thank you.

Sincerely yours,

Uncle Lim & Genting

I always believe that Uncle Lim is not a good human being.. coz we would usually heard stories that someone gambled all monies at Genting and had to sell houses and etc.

My first visit into the casino was way back many years, which i believe only around 16 years old.. That was the time when my family visited Genting and I knocked into my high school friend; Mr. How Soon Khang. Mr. How used to be a close friend, until we split class during form 3, we were still close but not that close. Some say he looks like Tommy Page, fair skin and well-built body.

So during the genting encountered, we decided to have a hang-out at around 3 AM. So we did, walked around Genting Highlands Indoor theme park and it was pretty boring. We are not sure our way, then suddenly, we saw a television with some program running. We walked closer and closer, hope to glimpse what was happening there.. Suddenly, we were inside the casino, the guard didn't stop us I dont know why, probably was sleep-walking.

That was the first time I saw casino, it looks more like a wet market where everyone was standing and doing something. Those were great moments, where i would tell friend 'Hey, I got into Casino!!!', but now it is like 'ceh..' coz this story is outdated.

Anyway, my other visits to Genting Casino were after legalized age. I never like gambling, seeing people gamble on stack of tokens, assumely RM 10 K at one shot and lost it just like that!

Until recently, my perception on Uncle Lim changed. He could be a good guy..

One friend told me, many of those big gamblers go to Genting Casino with 'dirty money'. So it is good that these dirty money eventually got lost and recycle back to the community, where Uncle Lim gets to create many jobs(endless job) and make couple of donations.

So now I like the idea of 'dirty money' lost to Genting Casino, this is very justifiable, and it should be that way.

anyhow, I still don't like to go Genting Highlands.

- heal wounds faster
- energize the body
- improve blood circulation
- alleviate the trauma of cancer chemotherapy and radiation

Emotional Man

aiyo, i am such an emotional man... but i really am. what u wanna say i am sisy ?? come challenge me something lar (like tennis and etc..) anyway, my good friend Ian Kwok is always the better sports man.

but yeah, i weep when watching great movies ..like even Braveheart, Titanic and etc..

recently has been roller-coster for the emotional part of my life. Before I tell u some stories, let me give you some appetizer.

I became a buddhist - believer (something like Neo in Matrix... ) around more than two years ago, it happened after I was terribly illed, so ill that it changed my life forever. Modern medical never diagnosed anything, but every damn day I was in pain.. and I had to go to college to finish off my degree. Those were hell days, I assumed I was going to die. When you had such feeling, u started thinking seriously. Self-help buddhism help me through such hell time, where I eventually converted to vegetarian and make a vow to stay tat way for my whole life.

It is irony to believe such reality which my mother predicted long time ago(through fortune telling); according to her, I am destined to be a buddhist. I was a non-believer until then.

So buddhism taught me great things and I was rejuvenated - resurrected.

One of the lesson is 'nothing last forever, everything will have an end to it, we must let it be, let it be...'

So I did learnt this properly.. and started to evaluate people's perception towards love. I laughed at couple quarelling at each other, or guys or gals who committed suicided over love.

Not until recently, a friend of mine ( a lady in her fifties) suffered widowed. Her husband died unexpectedly and she was terribly saddened. Initially I couldn't understand it, coz sticking to the teaching implanted in me; that 'nothing last forever, everything will have an end to it', I assumed that she would 'let it be' as they been married for many years. One day, as I visited her, she said something which touched me profoundly.

"Losing your life partner is a completely different feeling from losing your parents and even your own children.." I know what she meant, she was saddened tremendously, I wouldn't expect this as she is always been a very spiritual person. I reserved my comments, even though I was expecting her to take things easy.

Not until recently, I finally experienced the same awkwardness.

I admired a girl I met at business seminar, she is very pretty and independent type. Chinese educated with some passion for public relation. As I was single and available then, I decided to give it a try. I work on some strategies and hope for the best. Day by day, my feeling for her grows .. me without realizing it, I was attached to it.

Until suddenly, my time was running out, she was leaving for oversea to pursue her career and I couldn't just catch up with that. I was like having one month left to confess or not...or Hell .. this is disaster man!

but the verdict is she left without me confessing ..

OK, hold your horses boy... I am not saying she likes me or that she doesn't have boyfriend.. (which i dont really know..., I dont even know her birthday) But I just couldn't understand that I am not 'let it be' too.. I kept telling myself "c'mon, she dont like u lar, she hates u, no hope lar.." But deep down, I am still holding to it.. (Sorry to those gay people, I am straight)

my message is that it is not that easy sometimes.. if I was a disciple during buddha's time, he would look at me and said 'oh brandon, practice hard ...practice hard...' I definitely failed the test and it made me understood the fact that loving someone is really not easy and u dont just say "forget it babe".

For my case, I dont know which best way to do, either to tell her and risks all or just to let it go and move on.. It is so hard to decide coz the feeling is so really attached. I just dont want to risk this attachment which is solely mine and no one else.

so, many of my peers had been married (recently) and will be marrying soon, I have high expectations on them. Deep down my heart, I wished the very best for them. If the whole world would experience what I am experiencing, there wouldn't be any quarrel between couples, because u should really appreciate it. So when u guys are quarreling with your spouses or partners.. just think of me.

what lar.. dont tell me u weep on this.. this is just a normal bachelor story lar..

or ya, another discovery.. when u love someone u wouldn't opt for pornography.. u would say 'argg.. come one...that is too disgusting..' keke.. dont laugh lar. So if you go for pornography it means u have empty feeling lar.. in case u are addicted to pornography, go get real love lar...

anyway ..

Time heals all wounds, buddhism lives on.

A Reunion - CHS Aniversery

yeah brother and sister, heloo..

last nite around 10 PM (Malaysian time), in UJS 10, PJ, Selangor, Malaysia. Me and my high school friends had a round of reunion.. let me introduce the members.

1. Brandon Teoh (the most baik hati a.k.a the ONE from top or bottom)
2. Ian Kwok (Sales Manager with music talents and sports bastard a.k.a the dog)
3. Rick Teoh Yaw Meng (the 7 experts)
4. Soo Wei Siang (the chemical engineer)
5. Bryan Lee Jun Mai (tai lor)
6. Milton Kok (the U.K based civil engineer with no business card)
7. Priscilia Chai (the U.K based accountant)
8. Chow Yuen Ping (the malaysian based civil engineer)
9. See Lai Yee (the accountant cum tea enterprenuer)
10. Josephine Fong (the finance consultant - S2 at KPMG)
11. Ngan Kian Hin (the dancer cum SAP consultant)
12. Lok Yen Foong (the foong 'ceh' working at Merk)
13. Xiao Fei (the Great Eastern employee)

so who started the whole thing... ? -> U.K based couple came back for holidays, we were like dragged into a 'force' reunion thingy.. by the way, this is a 'temporarily' farewell thingy, the episod to be continued by April 2005 .. hopefully i will get married before that, so that i can 'force' them at my own pleasure.. the only problem is i am not qualify to get marry yet..due to the following reasons:

  1. No Girlfriend
  2. No Money

anyway, no problem i will work hard..

so yeah, what about us ?? we been friends for more than 10 years.. since high school (CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL).. all of us got older a bit..we talk rubbish mainly... gossiping about somebody elses marriage such as 'the tennis girl'... we talked about U.K and how Princess Diana accusingly pushed people into the pool of her memorial fountain park. We also talked a bit about 'patches' and tennis.. oh ya, we all missed tennis, they been urging me to organize some kind of weekly tennis game basis (i will try my best)

Some of the topics overheard from amongst the conversation:

1. Electronic issurance coverage - would it be a threat to insurance agent ?
2. Anwar Ibrahim mattress belongs to one of the member ..really ?
3. One of our high-school friend earn RM 6K per month doing just part time lecturing.
4. Going from Malaysian to U.K is about 13 hours straight.. u can cheat jet-lag by pretending to sleep.
5. What courses being offered by Iverson?
6. PM walked past one of the member's exhibition booth without noticing him (during the ICT and Communication expose at Mines Convention Center)
7. There is a rich girl, a short girl and a LCCI girl waiting to be introduced to Brandon Teoh. But have to wait until sometime end of the year. What lar..
8. Brandon Teoh is going to Taiwan .. serious ?
9. Why is Jane Low not coming?

Overall, it was a great reunion..we were tired and yet relax, had some small refreshment over at Tai Pan's mamak, where we got a controversy 'milo suam' issue, nevertheless, it was resolved promptly ... The mamak were happy to see us there, as we were the largest group with wonderful ideas..

We all have great affinity(缘份) .. and it a blessing that all of us are still intach at one piece. Non of us ventured into selling pornography, loaning shark, dirty money or something like that.. we are a good batch of human being for the year of 1978 - the year of the horse.

Mainly, most of us still dont change much, except priorities and directions.. Mr. Ngan is going to U.K for two months, so he will be joining the U.K based couple for some sort 'threesome' thingy... but i doubt he can do any dancing over there, coz the place might not be big enough for him..

the only thing we forgot is taking a snapshot of what we were .. becauase all of us were so tired.. we 'split' at around 1:37AM.

so what next ??? nothing much lar.. Brandon Teoh will always be in Malaysia, waiting for people to come and go.. and come and go...until i decided it is time for me to go and never come.(the time I decided to let go the '缘')

useless man

how many times u been in situations where you wanted to do more but couldn't ?? things like this really makes me sad and down...

I wanted to help many people, do many things but I am stuck to my priority - my current job, most importantly, I don't have the financial capability to walk my wishes. yea.. had I been working hard on my MLM previously, I might be better off now .. or had I been a smarter person, I would be in a big big company earning big money.. The more 'had I been'... the more worst things could be..

I wished I could settle all existing problems by today and tomorrow become a brand new life.. where there are no obligation, no rules, no pain, no boundary and etc.

When I am down, I would prefer to take a bus ride through K.L at nite time just to look at lights, building, people, traffic and listening to some malay song in the background. It is ok if the bus is moving slowly, as long as it moves. It really helps better than driving my own car chasing down empty highway at high speed, which I don't prefer.

oh.. brother..I am such useless man..

亦未平复此中争斗
又有喜又有愁
