FGS 永文法师 Talk - 走过逆境,超越生死

永文法师在佛光山文教中心,23-Jun-2011, 8pm.

这是我的理解。

永文法师在三十多年前,正当在念书时,得到Systemic Lupus Erythematosus(SLE),医生说只剩三年的命。

走过了三十多年的人生,永文法师为我们带来一些走过逆境的经验。

很重要的是,在这种情况下,必须先接受事实,然后做最坏的准备,这样就可以放下了。

要做因缘观。

生病在医学的原理是因为免疫系统出了问题。

因(body)缘(lifestyle)果(sickness)。

所以,生活习惯(lifestyle)很重要。

要保持无住的心。

永文法师也解释人间佛教。

以四种涅槃的概念。
  • 有余涅槃 - 释迦摩尼佛36 岁得到无上正等正觉,就达到这地步。
  • 无余涅槃 - 释迦摩尼佛85 岁入灭。说法49年后。
  • 自性涅槃
  • 究竟涅槃
人间友情,欢喜心是人间佛教的基础,欢喜就是开悟,每个人都可以欢喜,都可以开悟,这世间没有特殊的人,不必死才涅槃。

就是说,人间佛教代表平等开悟,以生活学来开悟。 不一定是有余涅槃,无余涅槃。 也可以是自性涅槃,究竟涅槃。

Ullambana's Origin?

Ullambana lasts from the first to the fifteenth day of the lunar calendar's seventh month. It is also known as the month of the monastics, merits, gratitude, filial piety and blessings. Ullambana's origin dates back to the Buddha's era when Maudgalyayana(目建连) saw his mother suffering in the realm of hungry ghosts with his supernatural power. He tried to provide food to his mother but they were burnt into flames. Maudgalyayana thus sought the Buddha's advice, and was told to make food offerings to the monastics at the end of the rainy retreat and dedicate the merits to his mother. This would relieve not only his mother's suffering, but also the suffering of this parents of seven lifetimes.

Remove Stubborn Stains From Your Car

Use WD-40.

It works!

It works for all all colors and almost all kind of stains.

Just spray directly to stains and wipe with a cloth.

It is a little greasy with some gasses emitted when the liquid is sprayed out.

It works for Perodua Alza solid white color and Perodua Myvi Metallic black.

P/s: It will not spoil the paint of your car.

Author/physician Shigeaki Hinohara On Longer Life

His diets:

For breakfast I drink coffee, a glass of milk and some orange juice with a tablespoon of olive oil in it. Olive oil is great for the arteries and keeps my skin healthy. Lunch is milk and a few cookies, or nothing when I am too busy to eat. I never get hungry because I focus on my work. Dinner is veggies, a bit of fish and rice, and, twice a week, 100 grams of lean meat.

His Schedules:

My schedule book is already full until 2014, with lectures and my usual hospital work. In 2016 I'll have some fun, though: I plan to attend the Tokyo Olympics!

On Materialistic:

Remember: You don't know when your number is up, and you can't take it with you to the next place.

His Advises:
  • There is no need to ever retire, but if one must, it should be a lot later than 65.
  • Share what you know.
  • To stay healthy, always take the stairs and carry your own stuff.
  • Science alone can't cure or help people
