Buddhism on the human origins and the creator

In the Buddhist sutra (增一阿含經 (CN) ; Ekottaragama-sutra (EN) ), it is mentioned indeed human origins was heavenly beings.

http://www.fomen123.com/fo/fojiao/yuzhou/9569.html

Also it is mentioned about the creator.

http://www.fomen123.com/fo/fojiao/yuzhou/9612.html

In nutshell (based on the text as spoken by Lord Buddha), the universe was subjected to big-bang creation after which the old world (previous universe) was subjected to destruction, nonetheless, the destruction left out certain realms and one of such is known as the 光音 heaven which was where human origins came from.

After the destruction of the previous world, the big-bang happened and earth was created along with the sun, moon and other planets known and unknown to modern science.

Heavenly beings from 光音 heaven whose heavenly life had almost come to an end, were lured by the virginity of planet earth and decided to come forth to venture out of the heaven.

Once they settled, they found themselves trapped and unable to go back and hence lived on.

According to the text, all human ancestors came straight from 光音 heaven were light skinned color and today's human complexion was a result of different lifestyles, mindsets, influence from the weather and other factors.

When our heavenly human ancestors came to earth, they were greeted by a god (大梵天王) who told them that "I have no creator, I am hence natural, the creator of the universe and parents to all beings".

Please don't take my word for it, go read the text and do your own research.

Eyes Wide Shut: MalayMailOnline: MCA told to shut up

Eyes wide shut...

Not being appreciated and respected, was humiliated instead.

This is a good case study - at the end of the day, even own partners will look down on you, despise you.

Eyes wide shut - it is so obvious but yet you couldn't see.

Don't you feel heavy holding this bucket ?

Someone told me this story yesterday.

A man approached his teacher and started complaining non-stop, he kept on and on, the teacher listened and didn’t attempt to interrupt him. At one point, the teacher gave him a bucket full of water. Without much hesitation, the man took the bucket, holding it and kept on complaining.

Not long after that, the man was exhausted and slowed down, the teacher intervened and asked “don’t you feel heavy holding this bucket full of water ?” The man replied “Yes, very heavy.” The teacher said “ then why don’t you put it down ?”

From then on, the man put down all his sufferings and continued with life.

1.) No matter how much you earn, always remember to divide it into five parts proportionately - living expenses, socializing, education, holiday and investment. Suppose your monthly income is only RMB 2,000, you can live well. I can help you put money into five sets of funds. The first $600, second $400, third $300, fourth $200, fifth $500.

2.) Being able to smile when being slightly misunderstood is good upbringing. When you’re wronged and you smile with calmness, it is generosity. When you’re being taken advantage of and you can smile, you’re being open-minded. When you are helpless and you can do a philosophical smile, you’re in a calm state. When you’re in distress and you can laugh out loud, you’re being generous. When you’re looked down and you can calmly smile, you’re being confident. When you’re being jilted in relationships and you can smile it off, you’re being suave.

Plant reaches out for the sun

Plants will stretch out for the sun.

Notice that the edged-out parts were motivated by the sun - the plant is positioned in a place where sunlight doesn't cover the whole area all time time.

WWF: You May Be The Orang-Utan's Last Hope

The orang-utan is the largest arboreal (tree-living) animal in the world. They spend most of their time in trees - feeding, sheltering and travelling through the forest canopy.

Fossil records show that orang-utans have been on this earth for more than 800,000 years and populations once spread from China to as far as Sulawesi. Today, Borneo and Sumatra are the only two islands in the world that are supporting natural orang-utan populations numbering about 55,000.

Maintaining natural forests with viable wild breeding populations and restoring degraded forests is vital for the continued survival of orang-utans in Malaysia.

Facing threats such as logging, forest fires, degradations; orang-utans may suffer further decline due to poor habitat.

Hence, the Sabah's government's initiative to retain the largest orang-utan population in Ulu Segama-Malue Forest Reserves under protection status deserves a worthy acknowledgement and support.

NKF: Eat to gain enough energy

Patients on dialysis are advised to restrict their intake of phosphorus, potassium and salt. However, sometimes, these restrictions may result in them not getting adequate nutrition each day, thereby affecting their daily activities and in the long run. Without enough energy can lead to fatigue, weight loss and higher risks of infection.

Kidney-friendly fats and energy

Fats supply the body with energy too. Besides giving us energy, fats keep the body warm and help in using up certain vitamins. . However, the body needs only a small amount of fat, but consuming too much of it will raise the cholesterol in the blood, leading thus to heart diseases. It is, therefore, important to know the types of dietary fats: healthy fat and unhealthy fat.

There are two types of unhealthy fat: saturated and trans. The saturated fat, also known as bad fat, is found in greatest amounts in food derived from animals, is solid at room temperature, can raise cholesterol levels and increase risk of heart disease. Some examples include fatty cuts of meat, lard, butter, whole milk dairy and processed meat. Saturated fat is also found in some vegetables oils such as coconut oil and palm oil.

As few as 500 tigers in Malaysia only - today

The tiger numbers in Malaysia have fallen by over 80% since 1950's - down from 3,000 to as few as 500 tigers today - due to poaching, habitat loss and or fragmentation and lost of their preys - such as deer and wild pig.

The world has already lost three sub-species of tigers: the Caspian, the Balinese and the Javan tiger - the South China Tiger is feared to have suffered the same fate since they have not been sighted for the last 30 years - the Malaysian tiger is 1 of 9 subspecies of tigers.

Today, tigers are rarely spotted and can mainly be found in the Belum-Temengor Forest Complext, Taman Negara and The Endau Rompin Complex.

The illegal trade in wildlife is the third largest form of organised crime in the world after the arms and drugs trades.

And tigers are losing homes - it is currently estimated that only 45% of Peninsular Malaysia is still forested.

WWF employs a team of tiger rangers around the world to fight poachers and protect tigers from other dangers.

More updates from WWF-Malaysia.
