Bill Gates, Microsoft founder, once world richest man is now working part-time for Microsoft; at least that was how he described his commitment to Microsoft as chairman for the time being.
He refuted the talks of him going back to Microsoft to invigorate the business again, reassured that the foundation which he and his wife setup will be his mission at least till the near future.
The foundation is currently head-on a mission to completely eradicate polio. According to Gates, it is possible and the world has accomplished this feat once when smallpox was brought to extinction in the 1970s.
“Polio’s pretty special because once you get an eradication you no longer have to spend money on it; it’s just there as a gift for the rest of time," said Gates
Another interesting mission he has embarked on is to encourage a reality that all human being will live to the fullest potential and having equal opportunities for success. Is this possible with the capitalism economy ? I don't think so. Yet Gates defiant through his ideas that technology and innovation can help to achieve this goal. Check out Gates' lecture on BBC’s Dimbleby Lecture.
“It doesn’t relate to any particular religion; it’s about human dignity and equality,” he says. “The golden rule that all lives have equal value and we should treat people as we would like to be treated.”
Gates admitted that money isn't important anymore. He just needed to have the necessity to carry on his daily life for his works and his family. For the rest of his 95% of wealth will be spent through foundation and will be used up by the time he and his wife moved on to the next life.
